Wild. Endurance. Mountains.
Makes you think of Grizzly Adams or Jeremiah Johnson. Or bushrangers. Or maybe if you’re into the environmental sort of thing, John Muir. Who don’t you think of? Metrosexual clean-shaven types.
Now, I'm pretty sure there’s lots of good reasons to wear a beard into a 100km endurance event. But with 50% of my team hindered (or blessed?) by the possession of two X chromosomes, it was decided that things should be evened up a bit. Furthermore, many people have wondered if my enduring stamina is derived from Samson-esque properties of my beard.
Of course, even for such rigorous scientific experimentation, I wasn't going to shave. But, with a twisted arm, and in the name of a good cause, I agreed that if we can reach our team donation goal of $2000, I’ll do it.
We hope to raise $2000. If we meet that target, I'll shave off my beard.
